The Fifth International Workshop of the Internationally Shared Aquifer Resources Management (ISARM) Americas project, which is jointly coordinated by UNESCO-International Hydrological Programme and the Organization of American States, took place from 17-20 September 2007 in Montreal, Canada.

The ISARM Programme is a multi-agency effort aimed at improving the understanding of scientific, socio-economic, legal and environmental issues related to the management of transboundary aquifers. The workshop brought together national coordinators of the 20 countries participating in the project as well as international experts. During the event, participants heard keynote presentations on the draft articles on the law of transboundary aquifers, and were presented an Atlas compiling the results of cooperation between neighboring countries in the Americas identifying 69 transboundary aquifers.
