Supported by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for the Environment, this conference will focus on river basin planning and management particularly with respect to the European Water Framework Directive (EWFD), which requires progressive protection and enhancement to rivers, lakes, estuaries, coastal waters and wetlands by 2015.
