11 July 2008: The World Intellectual Property Organization
(WIPO) will hold a symposium on Patent Landscaping and Transfer of Technology
under Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs) on 26 August 2008, in
Geneva, Switzerland.

The event will explore intellectual property (IP) rights
and their role in the development and transfer of technologies within the
context of MEAs, as many contain technology transfer provisions around which IP
issues arise. The symposium will feature a presentation by a UNFCCC representative
and is part of WIPO’s Life Sciences Programme. [Symposium
