story highlights

The UNFCCC Secretariat published a workshop summary report on guidelines for the preparation of national communications by parties included in Annex I to the Convention, as well as Croatia's submission on the revision of UNFCCC Annex I reporting guidelines.

24 November 2010: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a report (FCCC/SBSTA/2010/INF.10) that provides a summary of the second workshop organized to implement the work programme of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) to revise the “Guidelines for the preparation of national communications by parties included in Annex I to the Convention, Part I: UNFCCC reporting guidelines on annual inventories.”

The workshop was organized by the Secretariat and was held in Bonn, Germany, on 3-4 November 2010, in response to a request by the SBSTA at its 32nd session. At the workshop, participants shared their views on methodological issues related to reporting when using the 2006 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventories and agreed on relevant recommendations for further consideration by the SBSTA at its 33rd session.

The UNFCCC Secretariat has also published a submission (FCCC/SBSTA/2010/MISC.7/Add.3) from Croatia on views on the revision of the UNFCCC Annex I reporting guidelines, including the common reporting format tables and areas in which the Secretariat can initiate work on these tables. In the submission, Croatia proposes changes in the base year. [Submission from Croatia] [Workshop Report]
