UNFCCC Publishes GHG Inventory Report Reviews of Norway and Turkey
story highlights

The Expert Review Team (ERT) finds Norway's inventory submission to be generally complete, although a few categories, particularly in the LULUCF sector, were reported as not estimated.

For Turkey, the ERT concludes that with the exception of the LULUCF sector, the inventory submission of Turkey has been prepared and reported broadly in accordance with the UNFCCC reporting guidelines.

UNFCCC21 July 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the reports of the individual review of the annual submissions of Norway (FCCC/ARR/2010/NOR) and Turkey (FCCC/ARR/2010/TUR) submitted in 2010.

The Expert Review Team (ERT) concludes that the inventory submission of Norway has been prepared and the information reported in accordance with the UNFCCC reporting guidelines. The inventory submission is complete and Norway has submitted a complete set of Common Reporting Format (CRF) tables for the years 1990-2008 and an national inventory report (NIR). These are complete in terms of geographical coverage, years and sectors, and mostly complete in terms of categories and gases. A few categories, particularly in the land use, land-use change and forestry (LULUCF) sector and one category in the waste sector, were reported as not estimated (NE).

For Turkey, the ERT concludes that with the exception of the LULUCF sector, the inventory submission has been prepared and reported broadly in accordance with the UNFCCC reporting guidelines. For the non-forest LULUCF categories, the ERT is unable to assess the reported emission and removal estimates, given the absence of activity data in the CFR, methods in the NIR or responses to questions from the ERT. The inventory submission is generally complete, except for the LULUCF sector, and Turkey has submitted a set of CRF tables for the years 1990-2008, and an NIR. These are complete in terms of geographical coverage, and generally complete in terms of categories and gases.
