The UNFCCC has released documents for consideration by the 9th Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Protocol (COP/MOP 9) to be held from 11-22 November 2013, in Warsaw, Poland.
25 October 2013: The UNFCCC has released documents for consideration by the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol at its ninth session (COP/MOP 9), which will convene from 11-22 November 2013, in Warsaw, Poland.
The annual report of the Executive Board of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) (FCCC/KP/CMP/2013/5- Part I & II) contains information on the work covered from 14 September 2012 to 4 October 2013, as well as recommendations for action by COP/MOP 9. It indicates that “The main challenge facing the CDM remains the low level of demand for the certified emission reductions produced by CDM registered project activities and programmes of activities, due ultimately to Parties’ level of ambition to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.” The report also comprises annexes addressing, inter alia, a list of documents approved by the Executive Board and deliverables provided.
The annual compilation and accounting report for Annex B Parties under the Kyoto Protocol for 2013 (FCCC/KP/CMP/2013/6 & Add.1) includes, among other things: information on total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the sources listed in Annex A to the Kyoto Protocol; GHG emissions and removals from land use, land-use change and forestry (LULUCF) activities; and transactions and holdings of Kyoto Protocol units.
The annual report of the Joint Implementation Supervisory Committee (JISC) (FCCC/KP/CMP/2013/4) covers the work during the period from 28 September 2012 to 24 September 2013.
