WWF, the Fisheries Secretariat and Birdlife International organized a workshop on the implementation of the European Fisheries Fund (EFF) on 5 October 2006 in Brussels, Belgium.

The workshop sought to: raise awareness among NGOs about the importance of the EFF and to support their participation in the EU member States’ national programming processes; highlight measures benefiting sustainable development of the marine environment eligible under the EFF; and outline steps to ensure that these measures are included in national programming documents.
