28 September 2010: The third meeting of the Indonesian-Swiss Country-Led Initiative (CLI) to improve the effectiveness of the Basel Convention convened from 24-28 September, in Hilterfingen, Switzerland. The meeting reviewed and discussed the elements that could be included in a proposal for a draft Decision to be forwarded to the tenth session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 10), scheduled to convened in October 2011. Participants agreed that, on the basis of the meeting’s discussions, the Governments of Indonesia and Switzerland, in cooperation with the CLI members, will collate and restructure the document into a proposal for a draft decision, together with accompanying documentation to explain the elements and the interrelations of those that also should be forwarded to the COP. Documents will be made available on the Basel Convention website to all parties, signatories and stakeholders for comment. [Basel Convention website]
