Held on 24-25 March 2006, in Curitiba, Brazil, the 20th session of the Global Biodiversity Forum held a series of workshops focusing on the 2010 target to reduce significantly the rate of biodiversity loss.

The workshops addressed: reaffirming the role of biodiversity in achieving the Millennium Development Goals; financing biodiversity action for achieving the 2010 targets; measuring progress towards the 2010 targets; thinking global and acting local – taking 2010 forward; and verifying biodiversity trade: 2010 challenges.
