CBD Secretariat Reminds Parties to Submit National Reports under Biosafety Protocol

Parties are encouraged to prepare their reports through a consultative process involving all relevant stakeholders, as appropriate, and to respond to all questions in the reporting format to provide adequate baseline data for subsequent assessment and review processes of the effectiveness of the Protocol.

13 December 2010: The CBD Secretariat has reminded Parties to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety to submit, by 30 September 2011, their second regular national reports on the Protocol’s implementation, as requested by COP-MOP Decision V/14 and in accordance with Protocol Article 33 (Monitoring and Reporting). Parties are encouraged to prepare their reports through a consultative process involving all relevant stakeholders, as appropriate, and to respond to all questions in the reporting format to provide adequate baseline data for subsequent assessment and review processes of the effectiveness of the Protocol.
