A conference with the theme “Biodiversity in Focus: 2010 and beyond,” was held from 21-23 October 2009, in Singapore, hosted by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Centre for Biodiversity and the National Parks Board, Singapore.

The meeting assessed the status of biodiversity in the region and progress towards the 2010 biodiversity target of reducing significantly biodiversity loss. Parallel sessions addressed: biodiversity and climate change; economics of ecosystems and biodiversity, and access and benefit-sharing.
