The fifth International Congress on Planted Forests will bring together scientists and practitioners involved in planted forest management and policy. Participants will review and discuss challenges and opportunities in harnessing the potential of planted forests to meet growing human needs, restore forest ecosystems, and mitigate climate change.
The European Institute of Planted Forest (IEFC), the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO), the European Forest Institute (EFI) Research Network on Planted Forests, TREEDIVNET, the Center for International Forestry Research and World Agroforestry (CIFOR-ICRAF), Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI), Kenya Forest Service (KFS), and the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry of Kenya are co-organizing the Congress, with the technical cooperation of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO).
