The 2007 World Water Week was held in Stockholm, Sweden, from 12-18 August 2007, around the theme “Progress and Prospects on Water: Striving for Sustainability in a Changing World.” The event brought together nearly 2500 participants from business, government, water management, science, inter-governmental organizations, NGOs, training institutes, and UN agencies.

Participants engaged in over 70 general sessions, seminars, workshops and side events in an attempt to measure progress on water-related development and examine the performance of policies and programmes in meeting water and sanitation challenges and capitalizing on opportunities for progress.
