UNFCCC11 May 2015: The UNFCCC Technology Executive Committee (TEC) has released an interim report (FCCC/SBI/2015/INF.5) on its evaluation of the Poznan Strategic Programme (PSP) on Technology Transfer. The Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI) will consider the report when it takes up the agenda item on the PSP at its 42nd session in June 2015. The evaluation is being conducted with the aim of enhancing the Convention’s Technology Mechanism.

The interim report details activities undertaken in the first half of 2015 to evaluate the PSP, including a stakeholder meeting that: deliberated on the evaluation process, objectives, scope of work and expected outcomes; invited the Globlal Environment Facility (GEF) to provide an overview of the background, status and lessons learned from the implementation of the PSP; considered the activities and timelines of the TEC and its internal task force on the evaluation; and discussed next steps.

The report reflects the progress made on the various elements that were under discussion, with sections outlining the planning and design of the evaluation (including a terms of reference (TOR) in the annex), data collection and next steps.

The document invites the TEC to take note of the interim report with a view to considering the TEC’s final report at SBI 43. Through SBI 43, the final report will also be provided to the 21st session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 21) to the UNFCCC in December 2015 in Paris, France.
