UNFCCC Reports on Annex I National GHG Inventory Data for 1990-2012

The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a report on the national greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory data for Annex I countries for the period 1990–2012 and the status of reporting of Annex I countries' GHG inventories in 2014 (FCCC/SBI/2014/20).

UNFCCC17 November 2014: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a report on the national greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory data for Annex I countries for the period 1990–2012 and the status of reporting of Annex I countries’ GHG inventories in 2014 (FCCC/SBI/2014/20).

The report provides a summary of the latest available data on GHG emissions and removals for the period 1990–2012, and shows that over this period, the total aggregate GHG emissions for all Annex I Parties, excluding land use, land-use change and forestry (LULUCF) emissions and removals, decreased by 10.6% and total aggregate GHG emissions including LULUCF decreased by 16.2%.

The document also outlines the status of Annex I country reporting, highlighting that all 43 Annex I parties to the UNFCCC submitted their GHG inventory common reporting format (CRF) tables and national inventory reports (NIRs) in 2014.

The report will be considered by the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI) of the UNFCCC at its 41st session in Lima, Peru, from 1-8 December 2014. [Publication: Report on Annex I National GHG Inventory Data for 1990-2012]
