UNFCCC Reports on 2014-2015 Budget Performance

The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a report on the budget performance for the first six months of the biennium 2014–2015 of the trust funds administered by the Secretariat (FCCC/SBI/2014/10).

The information presented includes income and expenditure, and results achieved as of 30 June 2014.

UNFCCC19 September 2014: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a report on the budget performance for the first six months of the biennium 2014–2015 of the trust funds administered by the Secretariat (FCCC/SBI/2014/10). The information presented includes income and expenditure, and results achieved as of 30 June 2014.

The report also includes information on: the status of the Trust Funds for the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), the International Transaction Log, and the Special Annual Contribution from the Government of Germany; programme support costs; human resources; and programme delivery.

According to the report, as of 30 June 2014, the Secretariat had received €12.6 million, equal to 51.4% of the total core budget indicative contributions expected for 2014. Approximately 47.1% of the core budget had been spent.

Voluntary contributions received, as of 30 June 2014, amounted to US$0.4 million under the Trust Fund for Participation in the UNFCCC Process and US$6.5 million under the Trust Fund for Supplementary Activities. On the expenditure side, US$2.4 million had been spent under the Trust Fund for Participation and US$9.6 million under the Trust Fund for Supplementary Activities.

The report section on programme delivery includes an overview of each programme including: its responsibilities; whether expected results for the biennium are being achieved; and a summary of activities that have contributed to the Secretariat’s achievements.

The 41th session of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI 40), meeting on 1-8 December 2014, in Lima, Peru, will be invited to take note of the information in the report and related documents, and to decide on possible necessary actions to be included in draft decisions on administrative and financial matters.
