UNFCCC Releases SBI Report from Doha

The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the report from the 37th session of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI 37)(FCCC/SBI/2012/33 and Add.1), which was held in Doha, Qatar, from 26 November-2 December 2012.

UNFCCC7 March 2013: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the report and an addendum from the 37th session of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI 37) (FCCC/SBI/2012/33 and Add.1), which was held in Doha, Qatar, from 26 November-2 December 2012.

The report contains proceedings and conclusions adopted in the session, including on matters related to financing, national adaptation plans, and approaches to address loss and damage associated with climate change impacts in developing countries that are particularly vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change to enhance adaptive capacity.

Key elements of the Doha outcome include agreement to consider loss and damage, “such as” institutional mechanism to address loss and damage.

The addendum to the report contains sections on capacity building under the Convention for developing countries, and an appeals mechanism against the decisions of the Executive Board of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).
