UNFCCC Publishes Status of Contributions to Trust Funds

The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a note containing information on the status of receipt of contributions to the UNFCCC trust funds as of 15 November 2014, as well as the status of indicative contributions to the Kyoto Protocol, which is reported separately.

Table 1 lists all 196 Convention parties and shows expected and received contributions during 2014 and outstanding balances for 2014 owed to the Trust Fund for the UNFCCC’s core budget. Ninety-three parties have paid their 2014 contributions, representing 62% of indicative contributions. Table 2 reflects outstanding contributions for the years 1996–2009. Table 3 groups parties according to the status of contributions paid to the Convention’s core budget.

Table 4 lists Kyoto Protocol parties, illustrating expected and received contributions and outstanding balances during 2014. Eighty-one parties have paid their 2014 contributions, accounting for 68% of indicative contributions for this year. Table 5 shows outstanding contributions for the years 2005–2009.

Table 6 groups parties according to status of contributions paid to the Kyoto Protocol’s core budget, and Table 7 shows the status of payment of fees for the international transaction log (ITL). All parties to the ITL, except for three, have paid their 2014 fees, while 12 parties have paid advances towards their 2015 fees.

Table 8 reflects voluntary contributions received in 2014 by the Trust Fund for Supplementary Activities, which equal US$11.2 million, and fees related to joint implementation, which total US$.04 million.

Table 9 shows voluntary contributions to the Trust Fund for Participation in the UNFCCC process, which total US$1.6 million. Table 10 describes fees paid towards the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) for 2014, amounting to US$6.8 million. [UNFCCC Note on Status of Contributions]
