23 March 2015: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the agenda for the 42nd sessions of the Subsidiarity Body for Implementation (SBI) (FCCC/SBI/2015/1) and the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) (FCCC/SBSTA/2015/1).

SBI 42 will discuss, inter alia: the multilateral assessment working group session under the international assessment and review process; reporting from and review of Annex I Parties to the Convention; reporting from non-Annex I Parties to the Convention; matters relating to the Kyoto Protocol mechanisms; matters relating to the least developed countries (LDCs); national adaptation plans (NAPs); the Poznan strategic programme on technology transfer; capacity building under the Convention and under the Protocol; Article 6 of the Convention (education, training and public awareness); impact of the implementation of response measures; gender and climate change; arrangements for intergovernmental meetings; and administrative, financial and institutional matters.

SBSTA 42 has on its agenda, inter alia: the Nairobi work programme on impacts, vulnerability and adaptation to climate change (NWP); methodological guidance for activities relating to reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation and the role of conservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of forest carbon stocks in developing countries (REDD+); issues relating to agriculture; matters relating to science and review, including the the 2013–2015 review; impact of the implementation of response measures; methodological issues under the Convention; methodological issues under the Protocol; market and non-market mechanisms under the Convention; scientific, technical and socioeconomic aspects of mitigation of climate change; and cooperation with other international organizations.
