UNFCCC Publishes Review of Austria’s Fifth National Communication

The in-depth review of the fifth national communication of Austria (NC5) notes that Austria's NC5 complies in general with the UNFCCC reporting guidelines, and provides clear information on all aspects of implementation of the Convention and its Kyoto Protocol.

UNFCCC8 July 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the report (FCCC/IDR.5/AUT) of the in-depth review of the fifth national communication of Austria (NC5).

Parties included in Annex I to the Convention are requested, in accordance with decision 10/CP.13, to submit a NC5 to the Secretariat by 1 January 2010. The ERT notes that Austria’s NC5 complies in general with the UNFCCC reporting guidelines. Austria considered some of the recommendations provided in the report of the centralized in-depth review of the fourth national communication of Austria. The ERT acknowledges that Austria’s NC5, including supplementary information provided under Article 7, paragraph 2, of the Kyoto Protocol, is mostly transparent. The NC5 in general provides clear information on all aspects of implementation of the Convention and its Kyoto Protocol.
