UNFCCC Reports on Status of Fifth National Communications from Annex I Parties

The UNFCCC Secretariat has released a note on the status of submission and review of fifth national communications (NC5s) under the Convention and its Kyoto Protocol from Annex I Parties as at 30 April 2012.

It indicates that the Secretariat had received 40 NC5s, 16 of which were submitted before the due date of submission, 24 were submitted after that date, and that Turkey has yet to submit its national communication.

30 April 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released a note on the status of submission and review of fifth national communications from Parties included in Annex I to the Convention (Annex I Parties) (FCCC/SBI/2012/INF.6).

The note provides information on the status of submission and review of fifth national communications (NC5s) under the Convention and its Kyoto Protocol from Annex I Parties as at 30 April 2012. It indicates that the Secretariat had received 40 NC5s, 16 of which were submitted before the due date of submission, 24 were submitted after that date, and that Turkey has yet to submit its national communication. The note further highlights that as at 30 April 2012, the Secretariat had coordinated 40 in-depth reviews of NC5s, including 32 in-country reviews.

The note will be considered by the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI) at its 36th session, scheduled to take place in Bonn, Germany, from 14–25 May 2012. [The Note]
