17 November 2014: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the annual compilation and accounting report for Kyoto Protocol Annex B parties for 2014 (FCCC/KP/CMP/2014/7) and the compilation and accounting information for each Annex B party (FCCC/KP/CMP/2014/7/Add.1).

The compilation and accounting report covers all 37 Annex B parties and contains an overview of the status of annual submissions and review process, the Annex B parties’ eligibility to participate in the Kyoto Protocol flexibility mechanisms and the initial accounting parameters. In addition, it contains the following annual information reported by those parties in 2013 and reviewed as at 20 October 2014: total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the sources listed in Annex A to the Kyoto Protocol reported for 2011; GHG emissions and removals from land use, land-use change and forestry (LULUCF) activities for 2011; and transactions and holdings of Kyoto Protocol units as at 31 December 2012.

The report also provides the following provisional information as reported by parties in 2014: total GHG emissions from Annex A sources reported for 2011 and 2012; GHG emissions and removals from LULUCF activities for 2011 and 2012; and transactions and holdings of Kyoto Protocol units as at 31 December 2013.

The compilation and accounting information for each Annex B party contains detailed information on assigned amounts of individual Annex B parties, as well as other accounting information provided under the Kyoto Protocol.

The reports will be considered by the tenth session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP 10), which will take place in December 2014, in Lima, Peru.
