The document, titled ‘Activities to Be Funded from Supplementary Sources,’ provides a preliminary indication of the resource requirements to be met from the Trust Fund for Supplementary Activities in order to fund additional activities requested of the Secretariat and implement the work programme of the Secretariat more effectively. These resource requirements, for which voluntary contributions are sought from parties, total €51,647,777 for the biennium 2016-2017.

The report presents resource requirements by programme, namely: Executive Direction and Management (€2,507,244); Mitigation, Data and Analysis (€19,171,792); Finance, Technology and Capacity Building (€2,953,165); Adaptation (€12,081,064); Legal Affairs (€505,901); Conference Affairs Services (€798,241); and Communications and Outreach (€13,630,370). Activities are also presented in a table based on whether they relate to the Convention only, the Kyoto Protocol only, or the Convention and its Kyoto Protocol.

The 42nd meeting of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI 42), which will take place from 1-11 June 2015 in Bonn, Germany, will be invited to consider the document and take note of the resource requirements presented. The UNFCCC published the programme budget proposal for the biennium 2016-2017 (FCCC/SBI/2015/3) on 23 March and is yet to release the proposed work programme of the Secretariat (FCCC/SBI/2015/3/Add.1).
