UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme has identified twenty-five new sites in Mexico, Spain, Morocco, France, the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Viet Nam and Malawi, as new protected biosphere reserves. These sites were approved by MAB’s International Coordinating Council during its 19th session (23-27 October 2006, Paris, France).
