UNEP/GRID-Arendal Highlights New Atlas of Geomorphic Features

The atlas, featured in the December 2011 issue of the UN Environment Programme/GRID-Arendal Marine Newsletter, examines the relationship between seabed geomorphology and benthic communities, and includes 54 case studies of different geomorphic environments, from coastal regions to deep ocean basins.

December 2011: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP)/GRID-Arendal Marine Programme has released the December 2011 edition of its newsletter (Marine Newsletter #24), highlighting the recent release of a publication titled “Seafloor Geomorphology as Benthic Habitat: GeoHAB Atlas of Seafloor Geomorphic Features and Benthic Habitats.”

The publication examines the relationship between seabed geomorphology and benthic communities, and includes 54 case studies of different geomorphic environments, from coastal regions to deep ocean basins.

The newsletter also notes UNEP’s recent release of the Carbon Calculator Iphone application. [Publication: Marine Newsletter #24 – December 2011]
