April 2009: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the University of Joensuu, Finland are jointly organizing a two-week course on international environmental law-making and diplomacy.

The theme of the course is environmental governance, and it will focus on past and future negotiations of multilateral environmental agreements (MEAs). It will also provide a forum to foster North-South cooperation and to take stock of recent developments in negotiations as well as in implementation of MEAs and diplomatic practices in the international environmental arena.
