23 July 2012: The UN Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (OHRLLS) has announced the appointment of a new Director. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has appointed Heidi Schroderus-Fox (Finland) for this post.

OHRLLS undertakes advocacy and mobilizes international support for the Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
