7 December 2011: The Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) have convened a workshop on the use of information and communication technology (ICT) and information and knowledge management (IKM) for agriculture and development. The workshop was convened in partnership with the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) in Suva, Fiji.

The collaboration between SPC and CTA aims to better serve the changing information needs of Pacific stakeholders in the agriculture and rural development sectors. According to SPC, Web 2.0 technologies empower people to become aware of the impacts of climate change and other issues.
