The Secretariat of the Rotterdam Convention convened a subregional training and awareness-raising workshop for Designated National Authorities (DNAs), in Yerevan, Armenia, from 23-27 November 2009.

The objectives of the training workshop were to assist parties to strengthen their capacity to implement the Convention and share their experiences on this matter. The meeting also included a pilot session covering aspects of the new programmatic area on the clearing house mechanism. Participants received training on a prototype clearing-house portal. Representatives from Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Mongolia, and the Russian Federation attended the workshop.
