The Pacific Invasives Learning Network (PILN) "Soundbites" January 2013 issue highlights the Solomon Islands's $1.5 million grant to to fight the Giant African Snail, and the Pacific Invasives Partnership (PIP) member contributions to the Pacific Environment and Climate Change Outlook (PECCO) report, which was released by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) in Doha, Qatar, at the UN Climate Change Conference.

SPREP31 January 2013: The Pacific Invasives Learning Network (PILN) “Soundbites” January 2013 issue highlights the Solomon Islands’ $1.5 million grant to fight the Giant African Snail, and the Pacific Invasives Partnership (PIP) member contributions to the Pacific Environment and Climate Change Outlook (PECCO) report, which was released by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) in Doha, Qatar, at the 2012 Doha Climate Change Conference.

The Issue notes 2012 achievements by the Global Island Partnership (GLISPA), including: ongoing support to the process to review the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) Programme of Work on Island Biodiversity, which has resulted in the adoption of a strategic, focused decision at the CBD eleventh Conference of the Parties (COP11) in Hyderabad; and two activities supporting GLISPA priorities featured during the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20) and CBD COP 11.
