Official Text of ABS Protocol Available Online

The official text of the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization (ABS) to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has been made available on the UN Treaty Section website in all UN official languages, in advance of the opening for signature on 2 February.

30 December 2010: The official text of the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization (ABS) to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has been made available on the UN Treaty Section website in all UN official languages.

According to an earlier notification, the ABS Protocol will be opened for signature by CBD parties beginning on 2 February 2011, for one year, at UN Headquarters in New York. [The Protocol] [CBD Notification of text] [CBD Notification of opening for signature]
