Missouri Botanical Garden Joins CBD Consortium of Scientific Partners

The Missouri Botanical Garden has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), to join the CBD Consortium of Scientific Partners.

5 November 2010: The Missouri Botanical Garden in the US has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), to join the CBD Consortium of Scientific Partners.

The Missouri Botanical Garden is the 12th member of the Consortium, which includes: Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History; Museum National d’Histoire Naturelle de France; Royal Botanic Gardens Kew; German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation; Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences; National Commission for Wildlife Conservation and Development of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Mexican Secretariat of Environment; Museums nature de Montréal; Higashiyama Botanical Gardens, City of Nagoya; Royal Botanic Garden of Edinburgh; and the Joint Nature Conservation Committee. According to Missouri Botanical Garden President Peter Wyse Jackson, “the Missouri Botanical Garden is fully committed to supporting biodiversity conservation worldwide and in particular to helping to achieve the objectives of the Convention’s Global Strategy for Plant Conservation.” [Missouri Botanical Garden Press Release]
