Livelihoods Day Convenes at Rio Conventions Pavilion

The Day included a panel on raising awareness on linkages between biodiversity and livelihoods; an interactive breakout session with project developers and international experts; an interactive breakout session on key learning and challenges with regard to transversal issues covering a whole landscape approach; and session on gender sensitive policies and the Biodiversity for Development Initiative.

12 October 2012: The Rio Conventions Pavilion at the 11th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 11) to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in Hyderabad, India convened for Livelihoods Day on 12 October 2012.

The Day consisted of: a panel on raising awareness on linkages between biodiversity and livelihoods; an interactive breakout session with project developers and international experts; an interactive breakout session on key learning and challenges with regard to transversal issues covering a whole landscape approach; a session on “walking the talk from forests to coastlines – implementation of gender sensitive policies in programmes and projects”; and a session on the Biodiversity for Development Initiative.
