Informal consultations of the UN General Assembly on the law of the sea resolution took place at UN headquarters in New York, US, from 1-5 October 2007.

Among the topics that participants discussed at this closed meeting are the issue of genetic resources in areas beyond national jurisdiction and the competence of the Convention on Biological Diversity in this respect, and climate change (IISD RS sources).
