A recently launched IUCN book aims to summarize some current application of ecosystem-based adaptation and its tools used around the world, and draws lessons from experiences in conservation adaptation.

October 2010: A recently launched IUCN book aims to summarize current applications of the concept of “ecosystem-based adaptation” and its tools used around the world, as well as to draw lessons from experiences in conservation adaptation.

Edited by Ángela Andrade Pérez, Bernal Herrera Fernández and Roberto Cazzolla Gatti, the publication contains 11 case studies covering different ecosystems and regions, including: dryland and wetland ecosystems in the Sahel region; the Nadi River Basin in Fiji Islands; rural Madagascar; Long Island, New York, US; the Lower Zambezi Game Management Area in Zambia; the Seaflower marine protected area in Colombia; the Gaguibine system in northern Mali; the Antarctic and Southern Ocean; the Baviaanskloof Catchment in South Africa; and Ontario, Canada.
