December 2014: During the Lima Climate Change Conference, the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) launched the ‘IRENA Newsroom,’ a multimedia online platform featuring stories on renewable energy. The blog highlighted progress on renewable energy as the climate change negotiations were happening, and also notified interested stakeholders of IRENA’s schedule and involvement at the negotiations.

Posts to date have included a “Quote of the Day” from key actors at the 20th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 20) to the UNFCCC, articles on renewable energy’s contribution to climate change mitigation and summaries of IRENA’s events. The webpage also offers easy navigation to IRENA’s press releases, publications and infographics, as well as its Twitter feed.

IRENA plans to maintain the blog to update subscribers and other readers of its activities, events, research and announcements.
