The IOSEA MOU facilitates cooperation by governments of the region to work together to conserve and replenish depleted marine turtle populations for which they share responsibility.

3 May 2011: The Indian Ocean-South-East Asian Marine Turtle Memorandum of Association (IOSEA) under the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) has published its May e-Newsletter.

Featured stories include a report on the Annual Symposium on Sea Turtle Biology and Conservation, which convened in San Diego, US, from 10-16 April 2011, and comprised a wide range of regional and thematic workshops; and a profile of the Indian NGO Action for Protection of Wild Animals (APOWA).

The IOSEA MOU establishes a framework through which States of the Indian Ocean and South-East Asian region, as well as other concerned States, can work together to conserve and replenish depleted marine turtle populations for which they share responsibility.
