Green Economy Highlighted in Nature Seychelles’ Zwazo Magazine

The latest edition of Zwazo, the bi-annual conservation magazine published by Nature Seychelles, highlights the green economy in a post-Rio+20 context, and explores the concept from a variety of perspectives, including biodiversity, green jobs, coastal development and more.

17 August 2012: The latest edition of Zwazo Magazine, Nature Seychelles’ bi-annual conservation magazine, focuses on the green economy, with features articles exploring the concept and its associated challenges.

Issue #25 of Zwazo Magazine, which is published by the NGO Nature Seychelles, showcases aspects of the green economy in action in Seychelles and the region. The issue opens with an editorial assessing the outcomes of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20) with regard to the green economy. Articles highlight gardening initiatives, educational awareness, mangrove conservation, “green collar jobs” and more. Another section focuses on international partnerships, discussing the Equator Prize 2012, the Seychelles warbler and more. The final section focuses on the green and blue economy, and highlights green buildings, solar technology, balancing biodiversity with coastal development, a new online green network for sustainability in Africa, and e-waste, among other topics.
