26 June 2009: The Global Environment Facility (GEF) Council met from 22-24 June 2009, in Washington DC, US, and concluded with the adoption of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Conference of the Parties acting as the Meeting of the Parties (COP/MOP) to the Kyoto Protocol to provide secretariat services to the Adaptation Fund Board.
In approving this MoU, the Council clarified that the accountability of the Head of the Adaptation Fund Board Secretariat referred to in paragraph 3 of the MoU applies solely to issues pertaining to the Adaptation Fund and the use of its resources. [GEF Council Summary]
