FCPF Releases First LAC Newsletter

The first issue of the e-newsletter published by the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF) on its activities in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) describes recent publications and workshops, and provides an update on submissions by Latin American and Caribbean countries to the FCPF.

25 February 2011: The Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF) has published the first issue of an e-newsletter on FCPF activities in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).

The newsletter highlights: a new publication on “Harvesting Knowledge on REDD+: Early Lessons from the FCPF Initiative and Beyond;” a ten-day South-South Exchange on community forestry and REDD+ (reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries, including conservation, sustainable management of forests, and enhancement of carbon stocks); FCPF activities at the 16th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP 16); and the FCPF Third Participants Assembly and Seventh Participants Meeting. The newsletter also describes: the FCPF Latin American Portfolio; a joint meeting of the governing bodies of the FCPF, the Forest Investment Program, and the UN-REDD Programme; and an October 2010 regional workshop in Argentina.
