UNFCCC Releases Submissions on Financing Results-based Actions on REDD+

The UNFCCC Secretariat has released 18 submissions from Parties, a submission from the World Bank, and nine submissions from NGOs containing their views on modalities and procedures for financing results-based actions and considering activities related to decision 1/CP.16 (The Cancun Agreements: Outcome of the work of the AWG-LCA) paragraphs 68-70 and 72 (relating to policy approaches and positive incentives on issues relating to REDD+.

11 April 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released 18 submissions from Parties containing their views on modalities and procedures for financing results-based actions and considering activities related to decision 1/CP.16 (The Cancun Agreements: Outcome of the work of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action under the Convention (AWG-LCA)) paragraphs 68-70 and 72 (relating to policy approaches and positive incentives on issues relating to reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries; and the role of conservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of forest carbon stocks in developing countries (REDD+))(FCCC/AWGLCA/2012/MISC.3).

The submissions are from: Bangladesh, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Congo, Costa Rica, Côte d’Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Dominica, the Dominican Republic, Fiji, Gabon, Ghana, Honduras, Kenya, Pakistan, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Surimane, and Uganda; Bolivia; China; Colombia, Costa Rica, Honduras and Mexico; Costa Rica; Denmark and the European Commission, on behalf of the EU; the Gambia, on behalf of the Least Developing Countries (LDCs); Guyana; Honduras; India; Indonesia; Japan; Malaysia; Norway; Pakistan; the Philippines and Switzerland; Saudi Arabia; and the US.

The UNFCCC Secretariat has posted one submission received from an intergovernmental organization, namely the World Bank, and the nine submissions received from non-governmental organizations (NGOs) on its website.
