EU-EBRD Sustainable Excellence Awards 2012 Ceremony Recognizes Energy Projects

At the MoSEFF award ceremony, seven energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in Moldova were honored.

To date, 37 projects, from the agriculture and food-processing to the manufacturing sector, have been funded for a total of €9.26 million in loans that achieve a collective carbon emissions reduction of about 24,178 tonnes annually.

EBRD15 February 2012: The Moldovan Sustainable Energy Financing Facility (MoSEFF) honored the seven best sustainable energy projects during the “EU-EBRD Sustainable Excellence Awards 2012” ceremony. Projects included industrial and agricultural energy efficiency, building rehabilitation, solar and biomass energy.

The MoSEFF award ceremony, was attended by representatives of the Moldovan Government, local authorities, international institutions as well as European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) partner banks and local companies. the

Thirty-seven projects so far, from the agriculture and food-processing to the manufacturing sector, have been funded for a total of €9.26 million in loans. Projects funded to date have achieved combined energy savings of 61,700 MWh of primary energy per year, and achieve a collective carbon emissions reduction of about 24,178 tonnes annually. This credit facility is supported by a technical cooperation programme and grant component, both funded by European Union. Additionally, a further 25 projects are currently expected to be funded under the Facility. [EBRD News]
