EBRD Announces Energy Efficiency Loan for Romania

21 July 2011: The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has announced a €10 million corporate loan to finance energy efficiency projects in the Romanian municipal sector.

The loan is part of an EBRD plan to bring Romania in line with EU energy efficiency standards. It will be given to EnergoBit ESCO (Energy Service Company), a subsidiary of EnergoBit Group SA, for projects such as energy savings studies to the installation of efficient public lighting, combined heat and power, and industrial energy co-generation.
