EEA Sustainable Futures Video Contest “Generation ’92” Winners Announced

The winners of the European Environment Agency's sustainable futures video contest have been announced with Sorin Veştemean from Romania winning first prize for an entry titled “every problem has a solution.” The contest solicited videos from youth born on the eve of the Rio Earth Summit, which took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1992, to draw attention to the upcoming UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD).

The second prize was won by Ana-Marie Lemnaru for an animation titled “bud,” while “sustainability visions generation ‘92” by Agneta Geisler Krogsgaard from Greenland took home third prize. Special mention was given by the judges to Raffaele Pio Alicino from Italy for “time to start again.” The buzz prize, given to the entry with the most public votes, was given to Neda Krstajic from Montenegro.
