4 February 2010: The UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) has released the Statistical Yearbook for Latin America and the Caribbean 2009, which includes sections on demographic, social and environmental aspects.
The report provides economic statistics, such as prices, international trade, balance of payments and national accounts. On environmental issues, the yearbook tracks the evolution of the energy intensity of GDP; that is, the amount of energy (measured in thousands of barrels of oil equivalent) needed to generate a million dollars of GDP. It also includes a table on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. [The Yearbook] [The Tables] [ECLAC Press Release]
