DSD Calls for Papers on Themes of CSD 20 and CSD 21

The call for papers seeks research that addresses the themes that are scheduled to be addressed at the 20th and 21st sessions of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD 20 and 21), over the 2012-2014 period.

These themes include: forests; biodiversity; biotechnology; tourism; and mountains.

19 May 2011: The Division for Sustainable Development (DSD) of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) has called for papers for new issues of its Natural Resources Forum, a United Nations Sustainable Development Journal. Natural Resources Forum is a quarterly journal issued by the UN. The call for papers seeks research that addresses the themes that are scheduled to be addressed at the 20th and 21st sessions of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD 20 and 21), over the 2012-2014 period. These themes include: forests; biodiversity; biotechnology; tourism; and mountains.

Articles submitted should be relevant to policymaking, and should address the topics from a sustainable development perspective.

Angles of interest include cross-cutting themes such as poverty eradication, changing unsustainable patterns of consumption and production, protecting and managing the natural resource base of development, application of integrated planning and policy tools for decision-making, institutions for sustainable development, sustainable development in a globalizing world, and sustainable development of small islands developing States (SIDS), Africa or other regions.
