17 November 2010: The Commonwealth Secretariat has announced that a coalition of young climate change activists from six Commonwealth countries (India, Sierra Leone, the UK, Canada, Australia, Trinidad and Tobago, and Nigeria) is developing a toolkit for young Commonwealth citizens to engage in climate change education and advocacy.

The toolkit is expected to provide guidance on key resources and networks, including sections on gender, food security, water, sanitation and human rights. It is developed in the framework of the Young Climate Change Initiative (YCCI) Network, which aims to build the capacity of activists under 30 across the Commonwealth, by sharing experiences and producing a practical learning resource for other young people.
