c3d4 June 2014: The Climate Change Capacity Development (C3D+) Partnership and its secretariat, the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), have upgraded and re-launched the C3D+ website. Users can review the outcomes and key lessons learned from the Partnership’s work on nationally appropriate solutions to climate change in developing countries.

The website promotes knowledge-sharing among developing country researchers and practitioners and shares the experience of ten years of analytical work on adaptation and mitigation solutions in developing countries. The site is organized around C3D+’s five service areas: Climate Science and Information Services; Climate Vulnerability and Adaptation Services; Climate Mitigation Services; Mainstreaming Services; and Capacity Development.

The site includes examples of implementation, which illustrate how various tools and methods are employed to build capacity and inform decision makers in the policy planning process. The website tracks the number of people trained, maintains a calendar of capacity-building events on climate change and reports C3D+ news.

The C3D+ Partnership is a four-year project funded by the European Commission (EC), with supplementary funding from the Austrian Development Cooperation and the Swiss Government. UNITAR coordinates the Partnership, which aims to improve the ability of developing countries to address climate change through the development of adaptation measures and mitigation strategies. C3D+ consists of six organizations located in developing countries and three global organizations. [UN CC:Learn Press Release] [C3D+ Website]
