Civil Society Dialogue with GSP Addresses New Technologies, Climate Resilience and Oceans

15 March 2011: The UN Non-Governmental Liaison Service (UN-NGLS) and the Secretariat of the UN Secretary-General’s High-level Panel on Global Sustainability (GSP) convened a roundtable discussion with civil society representatives, on 15 March 2011, in New York, US, to address issues under consideration by the Panel.

This meeting was organized as a side event to the Interactive Dialogue between the UN General Assembly and the GSP, which took place on 16 March 2011. In response to GSP members’ expressed desire to work with civil society, representatives expressed views on: a new multilateral treaty on technology assessment and evaluation; LED technology; imbalance among the three pillars of sustainable development; climate resilience; and the lack of high seas governance framework.
