27 January 2010: The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Methodologies Panel (Meth Panel) has published the report of its 42nd meeting, which was held from 18-22 January 2010, in Bonn, Germany.
The Meth Panel considers issues relating to baseline and monitoring methodologies, and develops recommendations to the CDM Executive Board on guidelines for baseline and monitoring methodologies. It also prepares recommendations on submitted proposals for new methodologies.
During its 42nd meeting, the Panel considered 15 proposed new methodologies, and agreed to recommend five for non-approval. It was unable to conclude consideration of the other cases and requested technical clarifications about some of them from project participants. The Meth Panel also discussed requests for clarification on, and revision to, approved methodologies. In addition, the Panel considered issues of general guidance and tools, including the standardization of parameters in the financial analysis of the Additionality Tool, and will continue its consideration of these issues at its next meeting, and report to the Executive Board when it concludes its considerations.
